What We Do
|
We provide research and education concerning methods to improve day to day patient care, medical outcomes, patient services and patient care processes. Life Laboratory research has already accumulated over 10 years of data from a medical practice providing primary care to approximately 15,000 patients. The information studied involved chart audits reviewing quality of care, performance measurements, cost data, health insurance reimbursements, and health insurance preauthorization denials. This research continues.
By communicating and publicizing our work, we demonstrate how a primary care office can:
• Lower the number of patients visiting emergency rooms
• Lower the total costs of prescribed medications
• Lower the number of prescriptions prescribed per patient
* Evaluate cost centers for the primary care office such as the cost of precertification
This research confirms that high quality patient care as well as lower costs coexist.
